ASSIGNMENT SEVEN
The next book assignment is Me and My Cat by Satoshi Kitamura. Be sure to test when you're done reading/listening (link below). I always have them read a book three times before testing! I want to focus on critical thinking. Ask your kiddo, ”Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be an animal?“ After reading Me and My Cat, you’ll need paper and something to write with. Fold your paper into 4 sections (hotdog and hamburger) then unfold it. Draw an oval in the middle where the 2 lines meet. There’s a picture below! At the top of each square write one of the following: -What and how does it eat? -What is it’s habitat (or where does it live)? -What’s one thing it does? -What does it look like or sound like? Have your kiddo write their favorite animal in the oval. In each square below the questions, your kiddo will write a complete sentence to answer the question. *Extension activity-Use the graphic organizer you just made to write a story. It can start with “If I were to swap places with a _________ (full in animal) I would...” Use the sentences written in the squares to develop the story. Challenge your student to add details and use describing words. **To integrate art. Have kiddos illustrate the animal they swapped places with. When you're done, you can snap a picture and email it to me at [email protected] Read aloud - https://www.storylineonline.net/books/me-and-my-cat/ AR Test - https://hosted171.renlearn.com/91358/public/rpm/login/Login.aspx?srcID=t Quiz number is 36446
